Build Your Self-Confidence – Having a Can-Do Attitude
June 27, 2010Chances are you’ve met someone that seems to be confident in everything they do. They remain calm in stressful situations, and they tackle challenges that others dare not attempt. Self-confidence comes from within, and it doesn’t happen overnight, in fact, it takes repeated efforts to build yourself up as a confident person. Here are some ways to gain self-confidence:
1) Be Willing to Try New Things
Change is never easy, but it’s the only way to expand yourself outside your comfort-zone. The more you push yourself to try to new things, the more you will be confident in your ability to adapt. This can be as subtle as trying something new while at a restaurant or buying new clothes. For a story of extreme change, check out this video (click here):
2) Accept Yourself for Who You Are
If you look in the mirror and immediately start listing all the things you don’t like about yourself, think about how that’s affecting your self-confidence. Instead, choose to accept you for you, perhaps begin by focusing on the attributes that you do like.
There are many resources for building self-confidence from physical to mental. If you are not feeling confident, it will make your life feel more difficult than it needs to be. Spend the time to ensure you are your biggest fan!
